Beard Papa’s

While visiting Frisco this past week, I had a chance to try the sugary goodness and surprisingly large cream puffs of Beard Papa’s. I’m sure eating one of these brings you one day closer to your heart stopping demise but it’s so worth it! This will become a new mandatory destination when going to San Francisco. Beard Papa, then over to Post St. to visit The Hundreds then all the way down to Japantown.

This is what pisses me off about brands that try and globalise their product.

We have a Beard Papas in London (England) and I have been going their since launch but have NEVER seen a cream puff close to that size. Couple that with their over inflated prices and there really is no reason to wonder why they so very few patrons (funnily enough it seems nearly all their custom is fuelled by the Japanese people living in the area). They really need to step up their game if they want to compete with the abundance of superior patissiers in the centre of London.

Out here in Hawaii a local grocery store chain actually bought the whole franchise of Beard Papas. Crazy, I remember they used to limit how many at a time you could purchase, Best cream puffs, hands down! (Unless you’re in Japan).

newmiyamoto: I think any brand, especially BP, would have a hard time competing with patissiers in London.

knowxone: Since BP is the only cream puff I’ve ever tried, I have to agree on the best cream puff statement.

No doubt. I love cream puffs from japan. And BP is pretty dope, i just tried a cream puff this monday from there.

Btw, no post on the Lupe acoustic Superstar?

  5. Jero Says:

No, no acoustic Superstar. I liked it alot but I had some other things I wanted to get to and post instead and by the time I got to it, it would’ve been old news and seen it already. You going to Glow In The Dark when it hits the Bay? The Sac show is this Friday.
